Family Involvement

Welcome to the Parents Still Make a Difference webpage!

To the NCMS/HS Family-
Hot topics for this month's parenting resource are available to you by clicking-Parents Still Make a Difference for the High School Edition and here for Middle School Edition.  A Spanish Edition is also available by clicking here.  By providing these monthly resources to you, Newton County Schools remain vigilant to support family involvement during these middle and high school years, because...Parents Still Make a Difference!

Remember, your student's attendance records, grades, discipline, and more are available to you through our online resource. If you need access, please call Jessica Thomas, NCMS/HS Counselor, at 601-635-3347 or Amberly Amis, Registrar at 601-635-4261. Remember, it is important to update your contact information as soon as there are any changes.

Post pandemic on-campus family involvement opportunities are also available to you. WatchD.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a safe school initiative currently in place at NCMS/HS.  Fathers, father-figures, and community leaders are invited to sign-up to be a part of this POSITIVE family involvement opportunity.  More information is available by clicking-WatchD.O.G.S.  To sign-up for WatchD.O.G.S. or volunteer through our M.O.M.S. initiative, please contact the Parent Center at 601-635-4902 or email: [email protected].

In closing, with the popularity of electronic devices among students, please continue to monitor the apps, links, and games, as there is now a new face to "stranger danger" among the youth of today.  If you have any questions on who or what may be behind the screen of some of the apps, please call the Parent Center at 601-635-4902 for trusted websites that can direct you to valuable information.
